Cu profundă durere, am aflat despre plecarea din această lume, după o îndelungată suferință pe care a îndurat-o cu mult curaj, a celui ce a fost al 265-lea episcop al Romei, Papa emerit Benedict al XVI-lea, o venerabilă și bine-cunoscută personalitate contemporană.

Împărtășim durerea Sanctității Voastre provocată de această pierdere și adresăm condo­leanțe întregii Biserici Romano-Catolice.

Ne rugăm Domnului Iisus Hristos, Cel Care este învierea și viața (cf. Ioan 11, 25), să odihnească sufletul Papei Benedict al XVI-lea în lumina, pacea și iubirea Prea­sfintei Treimi.

With deep sorrow, we learned about the passing away from this world, after a long suffering that he endured with much courage, of the one who was the 265th bishop of Rome, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, a venerable and well-known contemporary personality.

We share in the grief of Your Holiness caused by this loss and send our condolences to the entire Roman Catholic Church.

We pray to the Lord Jesus Christ, the One Who is the resurrection and the life (cf. John 11:25), to rest the soul of Pope Benedict XVI in the light, peace and love of the Most Holy Trinity.
